We are not traveling all the way to the Grand Canyon via express mail. So, we have to plan places to stop. You know, so we can sleep, eat, and pee.
Surely, along the One Thousand Six Hundred and Four Mile drive there will be some other things we want to see in America. This is where Trip Adviser and Google Maps Come into play. It looks like Oklahoma City, Albuquerque, and Flagstaff are all along the way. There are some other cities along the way, but Lenay and I have already narrowed this list down based on what we wanted to see.
Lenay and I are zoo goers. We like zoos. They are kind of easy to enjoy as long as your don't go in with the wrong expectations. Zoos are not circuses. The animals are on display. They are not performers. Also going to a zoo means you don't need some secret friend in the city who can tell you where all the cool shit is. Also the Oklahoma City Zoo, according to their website, is only 8 bucks.
Oklahoma City and Albuquerque both have zoos, but (of the two) only Oklahoma City has a Hyatt Place Hotels. I'll talk a little more about how Hyatt Place is the most awesome hotel chain ever in another post.
Albuquerque has no Hyatt Place, but Flagstaff does and is really close to our destination. Staying Flagstaff means we can get up in the morning and only be a couple hours from the Grand Canyon.
